Belinda Cameron: Story & Interview

My name is Belinda Cameron and I am a 27yr old hairdresser, business owner and model living in Brisbane, Australia. I’m extremely passionate about anything to do with health, fitness, sport and general well being. I’m now the epitome of health and fitness but not always. Up until the last year, I drank, partied, and did pretty much everything you shouldn’t or maybe you should do in your early years.

Describe yourself in three words. Strong, Independent, kind.

What languages do you speak? English.

How would you describe your personality? Strong, warm, determined

How would you describe your style? I think my style is feminine, bright and sexy. I love bright colors like pinks, oranges, yellows, and love figure-hugging clothing with something different that stands out.

Can you sum up your style in three words? Bright, sexy, playful.

What’s your most memorable shoot? And What kind of shoots would you like to work on in the future? I think my first swimwear shoot with Dan Gowens. He really brought out me out of my shell and gave me the confidence I needed. Swimwear for sure! My dream shoot with be with Sports Illustrated.

How would you describe your professional interests? I have my own hair & beauty salon so a lot of my energy goes there. When I’m not working there I’m usually doing some kind of training. I love anything to do with sports, health and fitness. At the moment I train MMA at Integrated MMA and lift weights to keep in shape.

What do you think, Is it important to attended fashion modeling courses? Do they really help newbies to get a foothold in the Fashion Industry? I haven’t myself probably more due to time rather than lack of interest. I’m pretty busy. I’ve been lucky enough to have had doors open for me without attending the courses.

Is there anything you want to change about yourself what is it? Everyone has little things about themselves that they think are less than perfect. I’m not going to point them out and draw your attention to them though 😉

What kind of modeling are you interested in and why? Swimwear modeling is what I love. I enjoy doing this type of shoot and think my look suits them.

Do you have any other experience in the fashion industry (like writing photography etc.)? I’ve been on the other side of the camera so to speak. Doing hair for the models.

Describe the atmosphere when you’re on a shoot? It’s fun and exciting but also you do have to be focused. Its a lot of work to look like you’re casually lazing on a beach.

What are your strengths? And what are your weaknesses? Strong, confident, photogenic. Again the weaknesses…not going to draw attention to them.

Describe the ideal work environment for you. Beautiful beach on a beautiful day with an amazing photographer.

What makes a stylish lady or man? Is there a difference? To me I think style can be so many different things worn so many different ways. Commit to your ‘style’ and rock it.

Who are some of your favorite fashion photographers? My favorite photographer is Danial Gowens

What’s your favorite outfit from your own closet? At the moment it would be my new Veve Glamour Swimwear Bikini for my last modeling competition. It’s so beautiful!

Do you have a favorite clothing item, and if so what is it and why? It’s becoming cooler here so at the moment my pink Playboy slippers. They are so comfy and warm.

Who are some of your favorite models and designers? Kate Upton is one of my favorite models.

Where do you generally like to shop? Do you shop online? I do a bit of online shopping. I like Dissh for online shopping and yesterday I discovered Topshop for the first time.

What are your likes and dislikes? I love anything to do with sport, health, fitness. I dislike rude, ignorant people who put others down.

What’s your beauty regime? I use Cetaphil face wash, Lydia Jordane face moisturizer and Wella SP hair products.

What’s your take on size zero? It will never be me but some girls are naturally that slim and petite. If they are naturally that way that’s all there is to it. If girls do unhealthy things to achieve a size 0 then why they are doing it needs attention.

Excluding all complicated beauty & fitness mantra what do you think to be the easiest way to look pretty and glamorous? Be comfortable in your own skin! Confidence, warmth, and a big smile go a long way too.

Do you have a diet mantra? Tell me about the diet you follow on daily basis? Yes most definitely. I drink a minimum of 2-3L of water every day. Eat high protein, low carb, loads of greens, and 5-6 small meals a day. I try to have the majority of my carbs earlier in the day.

Is there anything you avoid eating? Processed food. If you can’t even pronounce the ingredients on the back it probably doesn’t belong in your body.

What’s your favorite healthy treat? I make a chocolate mousse out of avocado, maple syrup and cacao. It’s amazing!

How do you stay fit? How much you workout? What types of exercises you do? Being consistently active. I train MMA 3 times a week and lift weight 4 times a week. I also walk up to the gym instead of driving.

What according to you is the easiest way to be in shape? Lifting weights keeps my body looking toned and healthy. MMA also helps tone my body, keep it looking strong and gives me a fun dose of cardio. I think the most important things are to keep moving and stay consistent. It takes commitment and discipline to get results.

What’s your biggest indulgence? Oh, chocolate. I love chocolate.

How do you enjoy your time off, away from work? What keeps you happy? Spending time relaxing with friends. Also, I love traveling, seeing new places, and meeting new people.

What are your favorite hang out spots in the city you live in (current location)? My favorite place to eat where I live is Primal Pantry. It’s a Paleo café that has all kinds of delicious healthy foods.

What is your favorite city and where do you like to hang out there? My favorite place in Byron Bay in Australia. Its beaches are beautiful and the town has a relaxed, carefree atmosphere as I’ve never felt anywhere else.

What magazines & weblogs you read? I don’t read a lot of magazines or blogs but if I grab a magazine it’s a Women’s Health.

How you communicate with other netizens? Are you patient? polite? friendly? How often you reply to them? I think I’m friendly and polite. I do occasionally get some questionable messages which of course I will ignore. If I have a fan who’s is being polite and respectful I like talking to them. I mostly update and interact through my Facebook fan page.

How you access Internet? What device do you use? Mostly through my smartphone, otherwise it’s through my laptop.
