Le Siss: The Interview

My name is Sissel (you can also call me “Le Siss” which is my model alias). I live in Gothenburg, Sweden, and am 24 years old. During the days I work as a preschool teacher, but I also do modeling and play in my band “Human Earthquakes”.

What does fashion actually mean to you? What inspires your passion and what excites & motivates you about modeling? Fashion did for a long time sound like a lot of “need” in my ears – you NEED to follow all the trends which I have not been good at, and still aren’t. But nowadays I take inspiration from fashion to create my own look and style. Modeling for me has never had so much to do with fashion – it has been the esthetic and creative side of it, that have had a need for expression, just as music and painting always has.

What do you think, Is it important to attended fashion modeling courses? Do they really help newbies to get a foothold in the Fashion Industry? I have no experience of “fashion modeling courses”, but I think your best friend in an upcoming modeling career is a good friend with a camera and a big mirror.

Is there anything you dislike about modeling? I don’t like other models who think that they are better than me, for some reason. We all have different backgrounds and different goals in life, just like any other occupations and jobs – so why would you want to compare yourself with someone when you really can’t?

And what are some things you dislike or want to change about the fashion industry? As many others would answer, the way “real women” are being represented. More variety would defiantly give young girls a better perspective about what a body can look like, and that they are just fine with the way they look – however they look.

How you prepare yourself for a modeling shoot? How I prepare for a shoot is depending on what kind of shoot it is, but its important to be prepared with all the information you need to get to the right location, and if you need to bring something special with you to the shoot. The only thing I always do before a shoot is to have a warm meal and a big coffee (especially if it’s early in the morning, then I really need a big coffee…) and make sure that I always bring something I can eat if it will take all day – I usually get really tired and low in energy if I’m hungry for a long time.

What are your favorite types of outfits to model in? What are your least favorites? I love to model in corsets – they make me feel so powerful, sexy and beautiful, which is a great feeling

Any ultimate goal to fulfill as a model? How do you see yourself progress in this field? My goal has always been to have a lot of fun, to learn more about myself and to be as good a model as I can be.

Which country you are from? Tell us something about your city, your favorite hang out spots there? I’m from Sweden! And the second biggest city in Sweden, Gothenburg. I love everything about this city – the people, the lights, the water and the beautiful nature around it. I love sitting high up on a hill and look out over the city, just thinking about everything, and nothing at the same time.

What is your perfect day, morning through tonight? A perfect day for me would include waking up and smelling coffee (I really like coffee in the morning), going to the beach and swim, eating a romantic dinner, and then meet all of my friends for a big party!

Do you eat nutritiously? Tell us about the diet you follow on a regular basis? Is there any food which you avoid eating? I love fish, but I don’t eat any red meat – just feel that my body doesn’t want it, and to be honest I have never been a fan of it. This summer I have been without it for 10 years, and will probably never start eating it again.

How often do you exercise or go to the gym? How much time do you spend there? I currently work out about 3-4 times a week. I dance Zumba two classes every week and also love running and going to the gym.

Excluding all complicated beauty & fitness mantra, what do you think to be the easiest way to look pretty and glamorous? A good night’s sleep, lots of water, and a big smile on your face.

What are your experiences in the fashion industry? What is fun and rewarding about modeling? Do you have any advice for other aspiring models? If I were to give any advice to a girl who wants to try modeling – be polite and don’t start to brag about your skinny legs or your good skin in front of people in the industry – a pretty face doesn’t make a model. Listen and learn and always say no if you feel uncomfortable with anything someone ells wants you to do – you are still a person who needs to be treated with respect, even if you for the moment are doing a modeling job.

Tell me about your favorites. My favorite color: Red Favorite Model: Mosh. Favorite Photographer: (one of them) Josefine Jönsson. Favorite film: Everything made by Tim Burton Favorite Singer: Bjork

How you access the Internet? What device do you use? Where netizens can grab the latest news updates about you? I use my iPhone 5 and my (very old) laptop. Still works! If you want to see more from me you could visit my Facebook page and give it alike! http://www.facebook.com/ModelLeSiss.

How you communicate with other netizens, your followers? Are you patient? polite? friendly? How often you reply to them? I always try to be as positive and welcoming to new and old fans – I’m very grateful for my fans and would love to get more feedback and comments from them!
