Misty Lynn: Story & Interview

I am a model who has been in pictures on and off since I was 13. I took some time off from modeling, but have returned feeling refreshed and looking forward to many interesting and exciting upcoming projects. I have worked with many wonderful and talented individuals when it comes to photographers, make-up artists, and hairstylists. I look forward to working with many other talented professionals as I move forward. I have been blessed to be in print magazines, online-only magazines, flyers, photographer portfolios, music videos, short films, and charity projects.

I am professional, and once I commit to projects I follow through beyond completion to promoting those projects. I also believe in having fun with the people involved, and the project. I only choose to work on projects I fully believe in. Compensation is not a primary factor in my decision to be involved in a project. While compensation is nice, not having belief in the project and concept simply is not fair, or beneficial to anyone involved. I take interest in various projects, so never be afraid to ask.

What does fashion actually mean to you? What inspires your passion and what excites & motivates you about modeling? To me, fashion is all about showing your own style and taste and being comfortable doing so. I have always been artistic, and creative. The ability to push the boundaries, explore, and grow that creative nature is my passion.

What do you think, Is it important to attended fashion modeling courses? Do they really help newbies to get a foothold in the Fashion Industry? I think fashion model courses are more for those who aspire to be runway models for fashion shows. If that is one’s aspiration then yes it definitely will help them to get a foothold. For someone who chooses other areas of modeling, while it is nice to always educate yourself and know the latest in fashion, make-up, and the like it is not imperative or career-altering.

How you communicate with other netizens, especially your subscribers? Are you patient? polite? friendly? How often you reply to them? We are all the same, we are all one human race. I get busy sometimes, but I always attempt to respond as I can. I am big on Lifting and giving a hand up to others, karma, and keeping a positive, drama-free environment.

Has modeling changed other aspects of your life? What does your career do for you? I would have to say no. I still cook, clean, go grocery shopping, attend parent-teacher meetings. I think the only difference in other aspects of life honestly would be more greetings, hugs, and photographs.

Modeling has allowed me to help others to attain their dreams, and goals through collaborations. It has enabled me to be a positive influence and inspiration to others. It allows me to reach out to more people who might need a simple hello, hug, or positive word and simple acts of kindness cost nothing but can have such a huge impact on someone. You may never realize the difference you made with, the importance of, the impact of, or appreciation for that one act of kindness but to someone, it may have truly meant the world.

Is there anything you dislike about modeling? I think the only thing I dislike about modeling is the stereotypes that all models must be skinny, and that models are just pretty faces. Many of us are well educated and enjoy intellectual conversation, and we come in all shapes and sizes.

And what are some things you dislike or want to change about the fashion industry? Modeling has always been a competitive industry, and a competitive industry can have its ugly side. I think bringing professionals together to work together and help each other is one of the biggest changes needed, and I am pleased to see it progressing that way more and more every day.

How you prepare yourself for a modeling shoot? Wow. Since I don’t do runway preparing for a shoot can be hectic. once details are in place it becomes gather clothes, make-up, hair stuff, jewelry, shoes, and accessories for the shoot. All of my shoots consist of items from my own closet wardrobe. Mental preparation for me is a few moments of calming, and relaxing through meditation just prior to the shoot.

What has been your best fashion look? What was your biggest fashion mistake? I don’t believe there is the best fashion look or biggest mistake unless exiting the lady’s room and discovering 20 minutes later you have toilet paper stuck to the heel of your shoe counts….lol. I think people use their own style and taste to express themselves, and their individual style through fashion. As long as one is comfortable in what they are wearing, it’s no mistake even if it’s not something that is typically my style or taste

What are your favorite types of outfits to model in? What are your least favorites? When it comes to clothing I am comfortable in just about everything, so there really is no favorite or least favorite. Now shoes are a whole other story Tenni shoes have always felt so heavy on my feet and awkward that they are my least favorite. My favorite would be boots of all types. Heels and flats are someplace in the middle.

Any ultimate goal to fulfill as a model? How do you see yourself progress in this field? I have always been artistic, and creative. The ability to push the boundaries, explore and grow that creative nature is my passion, and what I see myself continuing to do as I move forward.

What kind of shoots would you like to work on in the future? For future shoots I have so many ideas of my own I would like to bring to life in both individual and group shoot projects. I would love to work with any model in this business. I have worked with and will continue to work with anyone who has a passion for the industry, and a great attitude. It doesn’t matter if they are well known, or a newcomer to the industry.

Would you like to tell us something about your city, your favorite hang out spots there? I do some travel and think the best hangouts anywhere are those with one or all of the following; great food, great music, great art, great people, and great times.

What do you like to do for fun & entertainment? Fun and entertainment….. Hmmm….. I would have to say anything that involves, good people, good attitudes, and good times is fun, entertaining, and memorable. It doesn’t matter if it’s coloring with crayons or standing on the top of the Sears Tower. It’s the atmosphere, attitude, and company that matters most.

What is your perfect day? I think the perfect day is any day that you can make it through every curve life throws your way, look yourself in the mirror and know you did your best, and know you were the best you that you could be.

What’s your fashion mantra? Please describe your style? What’s your beauty regime? I don’t think I have a specific “style category so to speak. I think I enjoy and am doing shoots in a wide variety of styles: casual, glamour, steampunk, gothic, metal. I think my own personal preferences are just as wide range depending on the environment, and mood. I mean you are not going to be wearing the same outfit to an elegant fine dining dinner, the local dance club, charity event, in the pasture riding horses, or that hip hop, metal, or country music show. I think as individuals we are all just as versatile as the world, and the universe surrounding us.

Do you eat nutritiously? Tell us about the diet you follow on a regular basis? Is there any food which you avoid eating? I try to prepare and eat fairly balanced meals, but between meals, I eat whatever I want. I avoid spicy burning my mouth just isn’t for me. I also can not do apple anything due to being allergic to apple.

How often do you exercise or go to the gym? How much time do you spend there? I do stomach crunches 15-20 minutes every day.

Excluding all complicated beauty & fitness mantra, what do you think to be the easiest way to look pretty and glamorous? The easiest way to look pretty and glamorous is simply let your inner beauty shine through in all that you do. If you want to learn hair and make-up there are many classes, and YouTube tutorials watch learn experiment, find what you like. Always remember outer appearance is whatever makes you feel better about yourself, inner beauty is what makes others feel good about you, and being in your company.

What are your experiences in the fashion industry? What is fun and rewarding about modeling? Do you have any advice for other aspiring models? I think every experience as a model is memorable! I treasure aspects of each experience and project. My advice for aspiring and emerging models would be always shooting for the moon, and so what if you don’t get to the moon, you might find a cozy little star along the way. It’s your life, and it is what you make of it, so make it the fullest, and best life possible. Have fun, choose projects you believe in, and are feeling creative. Give your creative input on shoots. Do some shots that consist of your concepts, and ideas. Network and, work with others who are like-minded. Be who you are. Don’t compare yourself to others in the industry, be the best version of you possible rather than the best imitation of another. Make your personal safety and security a first priority! ALWAYS take security on shoots! ALWAYS get and contact references! ALWAYS check the portfolio of others! ALWAYS do only what YOU are comfortable with!

Tell us about your favorites. Marilyn Monroe was sexy, classy, beautiful, and is timelessly admired to this day! I am open-minded and collaborate in various styles. I do have my own style, and sense of creativity. I have respect, and admire, and am influenced by all art, and attempts at art, even those I would not consider my typical style. If it’s an art I surfing on it, reading about it watching it.

How you access the Internet? What device do you use: Is it a tablet, smartphone or laptop? What according to you is more comfortable, quick, and easy device for accessing the Internet? I access the internet from the cell phone, laptops, desktop. It all depends on where I am, and what’s at hand, each device has its own pros and cons. Google is for sure my favorite search engine though.

Is there anything you like to add? Everyone be sure to look for my purple bracelet and purple belt to find me in this music video of the Beauty in the Suffering song “The Crazies” (The zombieSong) there are other music video collaborations as well as a short film collaboration with Beauty in the Suffering (www.beautyinthesuffering.com) that will be released in the coming months. Thank You so much for taking the time to conduct this interview. It has been a pleasure.

Your ultimate message for netizens? Always be true to who you are. Never compare yourself or compete with the accomplishments of others, but always strive to be a better you than you were yesterday, to go farther than you did, and accomplish more than you did yesterday. No matter what always keep moving forward, even when the path seems unclear. sooner or later the clouds and fog will lift allowing the clear skies and rays of the sun to shine through.
