Rosee Gidvani: Story & Interview

Hello! Ok well, my name is Rosee G, I am 25 from London UK. I started modelling nearly 4 years ago now, I got into the industry by accident after growing up suffering from Crohn’s disease which is a bowel disease, I got very ill as a young child and by the time I was 11 i had to undergo major surgery, leaving me with an ileostomy bag on my stomach. Ages 18 I was fortunate enough to have had the bag reversed and decided to try to raise awareness of my illness, my motto being ‘Beauty starts with strength and knowledge’. I have now progressed I to photography and editing and run my own small business doing so.

Describe yourself in three words. Focussed, Fun and Friendly.

How would you describe your personality? I’m a very happy-go-lucky character, I don’t believe life should be taken too seriously, very chatty and sociable, some say I am a born leader being very confident yet not pushy. I have been described in the past as ‘home’. I am very open and honest.

How would you describe your professional interests? I just love creating beautiful images whether I am in them or not and never like to limit myself, I see everyday as a new challenge.

Why do you want to work as a model? Why are you interested in this Career? I like being able to help other women who suffer with Crohns feel empowered and confident, it took me a long time to learn to love my body and if I help others do the same, it makes me feel good!

What languages do you speak? I am actually half Hungarian and a quarter Indian.. however I only speak English.

If you could change three things about yourself, what would they be? Nothing – I believe perfection comes from imperfection. Every day, we earn, grow and adapt to our current lifestyles. We should have no reason to wish to change anything about ourselves, you must love yourself before anyone else can love you.

What are some of your favorite models and designers? My favourite model of the moment is Cara Delavigne, she has such cool style and is so natural striking. Kate Moss is just a classic icon. Both really are down to earth girls as well as the personality definitely makes a difference.

How would you describe your style? My style varies on a day-to-day basis depending on my mood. I like casual and streetwear, trainers and beanie hats, but then I like to glam it up sometimes with a dress and a pair of heels. I love bright colours and accessories.

Where do you generally shop? I mainly shop on the high street, places like Topshop and River Island, Internacional, Blue inc. I also like to shop online quite a bit these days.

What other modeling projects have you done? I haven’t really had a ‘break’ yet so to speak, so have only been involved in small projects to date, including online advertising campaigns, fashion shows and hostessing, however I have a lot planned so stay posted!

What kind of modeling are you interested in and why? I like fashion and lingerie modelling, being a canvas for someone else creation is an awesome privilege.

Do you have any other experience in the fashion industry (like writing photography etc.)? I launched my photography company, Visual Xstasy this year. I also do image editing and graphic design.

How would you describe working with the photographer? Working with a photographer is a very nerve-racking experience at first, you must be comfortable but you soon get into it and it becomes second nature.

What makes a stylish woman or man? Is there a difference? Style is a weird thing – you either have it or you don’t I guess, its one I suppose I find hard to pinpoint as there are so many styles out there of fashion yet not everyone chooses to wear what would be best suited to them. Style is about knowing what suits you and how to carry it off.

Who are some of your favorite fashion photographers? My favourite photographer of all time is Helmut newton, his work is so cool and quirky, he pushed the limits of his time. I really love Terry Richardson’s style a lot.

Do you do your own hair and make-up? It depends on the job, I have makeup artists I know on a friendly level who I call in sometimes but I usually do it a myself, including the styling and post-production.

Do you eat nutritiously? Tell me about the diet you follow on a regular basis? I try to eat healthily obviously and as I am missing my large bowe it is important to make sure I drink a lot of water and keep my iron levels high eating red meat and green veg.

What are some of the main differences between the runway and photographic modeling? I have walked on a few runways at small fashion shows and l really love the buzz, knowing all eyes are on you. You have to be very confident, able to zone out completely and have ‘THE walk’.

What’s your favorite outfit from your own closet? My favourite outfit has to be my a in one bodysuit teamed with skinny jeans or egging, an army coat and some heels. Not forgetting odds of accessories 😉

Describe the atmosphere when you’re on a shoot? Its like a group of friends gathering! We have so much fun and make jokes, we bounce off each other’s creative energy and inspire each other.

Do you have any limitations? I like to push the boundaries and be different, yet classy. I am up for trying about anything.

Describe the ideal work environment for you? When I am modeling, I don’t really have an ideal work environment, bring it on I say! I am very adaptable. However, when it comes to my photography or design work, I like quiet and space, I have a work station at home with a big desk and a my gadgets set up with a nice sound system for my music.

What are you likes and dislikes? I like going out for food but I am not a big fan of the club scene, I have been known to shake a leg but I would rather go out and do something active instead. My main dislikes are liars and hypocrites – I cannot stand people who lie or contradict themselves. I also cannot stand people who give only to take back, I have never understood the concept of it, I am not a materialistic person so I suppose I don’t get the relevance of it. We are only put n this earth for so long and when our time has come to leave, we cannot take materials. It is more important to cherish people.

Excluding all complicated beauty & fitness mantra what do you think to be the easiest way to look pretty and glamorous? Apart from the obvious of eating healthy, drinking plenty of water and sleeping enough, the easiest way is to be happy, beauty ultimately starts from within.

Do you own a domain? Do you have your own website/blog? I have a Facebook page at the moment I am working on my site which I will post about at https://www.facebook.com/Rosee.GModel To view my photography and editing work visit www.visualxstasy.co.uk
